Erk FM: International 445 – Still Recovering From A Unicorn Bite

Welcome to Erk FM: International episode 445. Erk is still recovering from his unicorn bite so this is a replay of Erk FM: International episode 279. During the recording of episode 277, Erk was offered some new tracks of a band that he has played previously after being pinged on Twitter. This will lead to Erk giggling like a 13 year old boy (thank you, Randy!)  as well as more tracks from new (to Erk FM) music supplier Road King Entertainment. It’s a real mixed bag on this episode with a bit of a southern Texas twang!

Music supplied by Road King Entertainment & the artists directly.

Erk FM: Metal Monday 135 – Recovering From A Unicorn Bite

Welcome to episode 135 of Erk FM: Metal Monday. Erk is still recovering from his unicorn bite but is recovering. One of his favourite episodes of  Erk FM: Metal Monday was episode 49 which was recorded on location at the Bald Faced Stag in inner western Sydney. This episode features interviews with at least 2 members of each band as well as parts of their sets recorded live by Erk.

Tensions Arise were launching their latest CD, Stand In Defiance. They were recently back from the US recording the CD as well as playing a show in New York. At the time of recording episode 135, Tensions Arise are touring Japan. Will we see Tensions on Border Security any time soon?

Not Another Sequel Just Another Prequel had recently launched their album with Tensions Arise for support and now NASJAP are returning the favour. Vocalist Acey is always ready for a chat – what dramas does Erk cause the band this time? Soon, they will also be touring Japan (separately from Tensions Arise).

Fresh from seeing them on Dead of Winter 2012 in Brisbane, Frankenbok have been continuing to play regional shows when they aren’t playing in Melbourne. After their set, Erk chatted with guitarist Yeti outside the venue – another classic character with plenty to say. Never a dull moment with these guys!

Two new (to Erk) bands opened the night with The Blackened Beneath (from the Hawkesbury area of outer north-western Sydney) and Thrashed (from the Sutherland Shire, south of Sydney) both playing awesome sets.  […]

Erk Pod 471 – Erk’s Pacamerican Circle Day 17 – Discovering The Hawks

Welcome to Erk Pod episode 471. On this episode, Erk discovers that a sporting complex is across the road from his hotel. Erk has discovered that the Portland Streetcar is a great way to get downtown. Later in the episode, Erk heads out to his first live (ice) hockey game – the Portland Winterhawks are playing Moose Jaw. Not surprisingly, Moose Jaw are a Canadian team – they spent around 17 hours in a bus to come to Portland to play hockey.  […]

Erk FM: International 443 – Severe Pain Makes Erk Something Something (repeat first Erk FM: International episode)

Welcome to episode 443 of Erk FM: International. Due to Erk being in severe pain due to a leg infection, Erk decided to bring you a repost of the very first episode of Erk FM: International, Erk FM: International episode 197. Erk FM started in January 2009 as a podcast featuring music from around the world every Friday. During Erk’s Europe trip in 2011, he decided to separate Australian music to create Erk FM: Australia (even numbered episodes on Fridays) and then Erk FM: International (odd numbered episodes, Wednesdays).

Erk Pod 469 – Erk’s Pacamerican Circle Day 15 – Zooming To Trivia In PDX

Welcome to Erk Pod episode 469. Moving from one of Erk’s favourite cities in America (San Francisco) to another (Portland), it was a short flight up the Pacific coast to Portland. Straight off the plane & straight into a shuttle, Erk soon finds his hotel & then is off to a trivia night. As it turned out, the hotel had a bus stop outside the front door & there was a bus coming very shortly.

While it was a rush from the airport, Erk made it to trivia – any time that Erk goes to trivia in Portland, it must be with Quizmaster Polly. The rush was worth it & as a bonus, he also got to see Dr Normal.

WARNING – This episode features Erk drinking beer. […]
